Returns for Rwanda

Monday, May 22, 2017

Last year Stanwich student Jordan Mirabile conceived the idea of starting a school-wide bottle recycling program to raise funds for Project Blessing — Stanwich’s initiative to build a school in a rural village in Rwanda. He named it Returns for Rwanda. Put into action this school year, each Friday morning Jordan (a Grade 7 student) and friends Luke Meyers and Matt Sommer collected bottles from the school community. Jordan and his parents deposited the returns, raising $2,000 for Project Blessing.

At the May 22 Upper School Assembly, Jordan, Luke and Matt were recognized for their courage, commitment, and compassion.
