Capital Giving

Stanwich has had a remarkable, unstoppable spirit since our opening day. Our story is one of perseverance, community, and bold goals.

We all know the heart and soul of a school is its program, and the faculty and staff who execute that program. Our facilities serve to support the distinct Stanwich mission.

Capital Gifts are donations to support the capital needs for the Stanwich Campus such as renovations, new construction or land acquisition. As Stanwich School grows there will continue to be capital requirements to ensure the campus is able to meet the needs of each educational program and address any security or safety issues.

The Stanwich School purchased the entire 257 Stanwich Road campus in 2012 and made substantial improvements:

New turf field and landscaping at the entrance of Stanwich Road,

New multipurpose/gym space has been renovated,

Renovated classroom space for the Upper School making Stanwich the first and only PreK-12 coeducational independent school in Greenwich.

Capital Campaigns over the years have been executed and their success has led Stanwich to owning a full campus for future generations. Stanwich gratefully acknowledges the support and tireless efforts of past Trustees and parents and friends who brought Stanwich to this important time in history.

In 1998, Pat Young welcomed 72 charter students. Their parents believed a co-educational school focused on rigorous academics in a supportive environment was needed in Greenwich. They were right. Our "alums" are walking advertisements for how well our mission works.  It is because of the past success with students and the knowledge that future generations of Stanwich alums are needed in our world, make Capital planning so important.
