Heart of Stanwich Endowment
To celebrate the legacy of Stanwich founding Headmistress Pat Young, as well as the Stanwich mission, we are thrilled to announce that The Stanwich School community has created the Pat Young “Heart of Stanwich” Endowment. This fund will bring a signature Stanwich program to our new home at Greenwich Country Day, and will honor both our school name and founding headmistress, in perpetuity.
The endowment will be used to support Faculty Humanitarian Grants to enable faculty members to pursue a charitable endeavor abroad during the summer. The Stanwich Board of Trustees established the grant program in 2007 and over the years, faculty have shared their “Stanwich Heart” across the globe, from Ghana to Peru, from Northern Ireland to Thailand. Grant recipients have not only served those in need, they have inspired a generation of students to improve the world.
Thus far, we have raised nearly $90,000 of our $120,000 goal from alumni families and friends. A generous current Stanwich family has stepped in to match the next $15,000 in donations, which will allow us to complete our fundraising and award the first grant during the 2019-20 school year.
Please help to memorialize the Stanwich School name, our founder and, most importantly, the values that have shaped the lives of our children, our families and our community. We invite you to make a donation to the Pat Young “Heart of Stanwich” Endowment and become part of the Stanwich School legacy at GCDS.
