Parent Participation
Parents are integral members of the values community at The Stanwich School. Through a variety of programs and workshops and through opportunities to participate in events at school, parents are provided with the tools necessary to extend their child's learning to the home and to reinforce the values and skills taught at school. Parents are invited to daily assemblies with their children. Parents are asked to discuss with their children at home the issues discussed in weekly values and ethics classes. Parents participate in monthly values assignments and are called upon to share their life experiences with students. Parents of Junior House students and above are required to sign the
Code of Conduct and discuss its contents with their children. These are but a few examples of the many ways in which Stanwich parents are partners in supporting the school's mission.
In addition, the extensive community service program is coordinated by parents who work closely with the administration and faculty to arrange age-appropriate activities. These parent volunteers not only organize activities, they galvanize the entire parent body to assist in the various projects.
Parents are encouraged to model the behaviors and values that the school seeks to impart to its students. Working together, parents and teachers help guide students to be the best they can be, help others to be their best, and make God's world a better place.
