Laptop Program
All students at The Stanwich School are expected to participate in the Laptop Program beginning in Grade seven. The Stanwich School Technology Department purchases the laptop based on models offered from the Connecticut Association of Independent School and extends the school's educational discount to our families.
Due to the excellent performance and superior warranty support for ThinkPads over the past five years we have once again selected the latest ThinkPad model for the coming year. The Stanwich School will purchase all of the laptops, insurance and carrying cases and pass the cost on to you. This will enable us to purchase and configure all of the equipment in a timely manner, guarantee that adequate insurance is obtained and allow easier tracking of the hardware.
For questions about why The Stanwich School does not use Macs, please refer to:
Why not Macs for the Stanwich School Laptop Program?
The laptops will be distributed to your children during the first weeks of school in the Fall. We will be conducting technology orientation and training classes during this time so that your children have a thorough understanding of the laptop's capabilities, the rules regarding its use and what is expected of them.
