Associate Teachers are immediately immersed in the school's environment and gradually take on increasing levels of responsibility as they progress through the program. To enhance professional development, Stanwich provides Associate Teachers with weekly seminars on topics ranging from classroom management and individualizing the curriculum, to report writing and parent conferences. Associate Teachers also receive an annual salary, assistance with graduate coursework fees, and medical and dental benefits. By the conclusion of the program, Associate Teachers are fully qualified to be head teachers. Those who have completed the program have continued their careers in successful teaching positions in independent and public schools throughout the country. The Stanwich School's Associate Teacher Program continues to be a leader in the field of teacher preparation.
